Mabel Louise Hill June 10, 1935 - January 29, 2026 (age 90) Mabel Louise Hill, age 90, of Prince George’s County, Maryland, was born and raised in Calvert County, Maryland. She lived in several cities throughout the DMV area, including Landover and Laurel, Maryland.
Mabel passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Mabel attended W. S. Brooks High School. She built her career in the federal Treasury Department and later in the library system. She also volunteered with the OASIS Program, where she tutored elementary school children. In addition, she volunteered at Prince George’s Hospital, assisting and feeding patients.
She was a loving mother and a very supportive grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Holland; her sister, Phyliss Tapscott; her brother, Maurice Holland; and her daughter, Barbara Hill. Mabel is survived by her son, Donald Hill, and her daughter, Beverly Lane (Micheal). She is also survived by her brothers, James Holland and Stanley Holland; her sisters, Vivian Johnson and Bessie Sylver; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted Christian woman who loved attending church with her daughter and family. She truly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially during family vacations. She was a beautiful soul who generously gave her time to her community through volunteering, but nothing was more enjoyable to her than family fun and events.
